Tech News - January 2019

The Design & Technology department and I have been very busy designing and creating a variety of different pieces, which I hope you have seen and enjoyed.  I have been impressed by the students’ creativity during their  practical work and have enjoyed seeing the many different outcomes.  My personal highlight, so far, has been the fun I had making glowing rainbow lights with the students - with remarkably few soldering burns!  As I hope you can see, each design has the students’ own special touch!  For the future, Year 11 are busy and working hard on their final prototypes and portfolios and Year 10 are getting the hang of laser cutting and 3D design.  It never stops in our department, as there is always a student with a great idea for something that they would like to make.
