Dragons' Den - March 2022

Our Dragons’ Den event was held on the 16th March 2022.  The event was sponsored by Trescal, a worldwide specialist in calibration and asset management services. Trescal have very kindly donated £300 worth of prizes for the winners.

First launched in Japan, Dragons' Den is now an international brand with versions airing in countries across the globe.  In the Calthorpe Park version, our young entrepreneurs pitched their business ideas to three formidable Dragons: Andrew Morgan, who has also enjoyed a varied career including a decade in mergers and acquisitions for Siemens; Mr David Beattie, Head of UK Sales at BMW and our very own Ms Emma Jones, Deputy Headteacher.

The students were given strict timings for their pitch; they were then interrogated by all the three dragons. They completed this daunting task not only in front of the Dragons, but in a hall packed full of Calthorpe Business students.

Prizes were awarded for first, second and third place as follows

1st place- Izzy K and Summer B

2nd place- Meghna B

3rd place- Cameron M and Dan T

 It was a privilege to witness such a strong calibre of competition. The winners will now go forward to represent the school in an inter-school Dragons’ Den event to be held at the school in the summer term.
