Y8 Tile Barn - April 2024

During the first two weekends after the Easter Holidays 90 of our Year 8s took a trip to Tile Barn in the New Forest. We stayed in their pod village, which though cold, were a lovely way to camp. We arrived at midday on Friday for a quick lunch before our activities. Students were spilt into two groups with one group going on a woodland walk and the other half orienteering and making water rockets. In the evening after a lovely dinner, we roasted marshmallows and played games before heading to bed. 

Saturday's schedule was full up! We had four different activities to tackle, these being the Jacobs Ladder, Low Ropes, Fire making and Climbing. The students showed amazing Teamwork during the Low Ropes and bravery during the Jacobs Ladder and Climbing. For evening activities, on the first weekend we had a game of rounders and other field activities, but on the second weekend we were unfortunately rained on so we had a fiercely competitive quiz instead.  

Sunday saw a switch on Friday's activities so that everyone went on the woodland walk. We had a lot of rain overnight on the second weekend, so our walk was more dodging puddles, it was still fun, nonetheless.
