Following successful visits for over 20 years, we continue to offer this trip to Year 9 students. The WW1 Battlefields Experience links very closely with work which students have covered in the History curriculum, though its focus is on far more than the obvious historical events themselves. Remembrance Day also brings the significance of this subject into sharp focus, and the visit gives students the opportunity to appreciate the sacrifices made by our ancestors and to pay our respects to the dead of all nationalities. Students will often find graves or memorials of their relatives, which can be a very moving and memorable experience.
