WHAT TO EXPECT

Cittaviveka Chithurst Buddhist Monastery, is a place set up for men and women to train in monastic life following the teachings of the Buddha. It draws inspiration from the guidelines established by Ven. Ajahn Chah of N.E. Thailand. As a 'forest monastery,' it emphasizes simple living close to nature and silent meditation for monks and nuns.

Students will have an enriching experience visiting the monastery, where they can observe the monks' way of life and engage in discussions relevant to their GCSE RE studies. Before the meal offering, the group will receive a chanted blessing in the meditation hall.
