Should I tell my 6th form or college that I have requested a Review of Marking?
The awarding bodies strongly advise candidates to inform their university or college choices that a review of results has been requested. By informing them, they may be able to keep the candidate’s place open until the review has been completed.
How long will a Review of Marking take?
The awarding bodies have 20 calendar days to make the review after receiving the request. Due to high volumes of post-results requests, it may take the school a little longer to forward your result to you.
How likely is it that my Grade will go up?
It is possible that your grade will improve but often grades do not change. The review of marking can highlight areas where the original marker was too harsh, or too generous. This means Candidates need to be aware of the possibility that marks can go up, stay the same, or go down. In reality, downward revisions are highly unusual.
How much does a Review of Marking cost?
The awarding bodies charge different fees for their post -results services. Review of Marking fees for the June 2024 exams are as follows:

- OCR – £61.50
- Pearson - £46.70
- WJEC - £40.00
Charges are per exam script (i.e. per paper/component) and not per subject. If the review of marking leads to an overall subject grade change, then the exam boards will not charge for it and we will refund you.
