The Snowflake Ball - December 2016

On Saturday, 3rd December a number of Calthorpe Park’s staff, along with many other guests, attended ‘The Snowflake Ball’ at The Elvetham Hotel.  This very special event had been meticulously planned and organised over many months by one of our staff members, Mrs Pawley, with assistance from her team!

The purpose of this event was to celebrate a huge milestone and, at the same time, to raise funds for three charities and a sum in excess of £10,700 was raised for The British Heart Foundation,  Transplant Sport and The Freeman Heart & Lung Transplant Association.

Mrs Pawley has raised awareness of organ donation for a personal and profound reason: at the age of 21 she was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and found herself in a situation where, if it hadn’t been for an organ donor, she would not be here today.

The Snowflake Ball was an opportunity to celebrate the gift of a new heart which has sustained Mrs Pawley over the last 21 years, during which time she has both endeavoured and succeeded in living life to the full!
