Y7 Winchester Cathedral - January 2020

Students had a great time on our annual trip to Winchester Cathedral on 17 January.  As usual, we were superbly looked after by the Winchester Education Department. Students were treated to three very engaging activities.  The first of these was the Calligraphy Workshop during which our students were introduced to the art of calligraphy by master scribes.  The second was a tour guided by an expert historian who illustrated for our students the various historical features of the Cathedral.  The third activity consisted in having the opportunity of investigating the Cathedral as a place of Christian worship and examining things such as the historical font, the bishop’s chair, the great organ and the different side chapels. 

Everyone had a great day and, as always, we are very thankful to the Cathedral’s Education Department for making our trip so worthwhile on many fronts.
