Y9 Football District Final winners - May 2022

On Friday 13 May, five of Calthorpe Park’s Year 9 footballers travelled to Stoke City’s Bet365 stadium to represent the under 14s Aldershot and Farnborough Schools District in their District Schools National Cup final against a Barnsley and District School's FA team. Last year the team actually won the competition for the first time. This year, the team ensured it wasn’t an unlucky Friday 13th with a fantastic 3-1 win!  Hayden Stedman, Chataika Chimuchere and Tom Neail all started the match with Oliver Brophy and Jay Mason making an appearance off the bench.  The biggest moment came when Tom opened the scoring with a sensational strike from 25 yards into the top corner.  All three goals involved a student from Calthorpe with assists being provided by Oliver and Chataika. With five students from Calthorpe Park, we were the most represented school in the team.  Tom was awarded player of the match too.

As a school we wanted to say a huge congratulations to the boys, you’ve done yourself and all of us at Calthorpe Park proud.  A fantastic achievement, well done!
