Y6 Open Evening - September 2024

On the evening of Thursday, October 19th, we hosted our Open Evening, welcoming prospective parents, and their children to explore our facilities, meet our staff and understand what is unique about Calthorpe Park.

The evening included a presentation by our Headteacher, who highlighted our vision and values, including our commitment to academic excellence, personal development, extracurricular activities. Mrs Knights outlined the robust support systems in place to ensure every student transitions well from primary school and goes on to thrive. The audiences were particularly impressed by the contributions of Adaline E and Kyle B from Year 8 who opened the presentation by explaining their experience of Year 7 and Immy R and Scarlett S, our Senior Prefects, who explained how Calthorpe Park has shaped them into young adults.

An army of Year 8s and 11s showed round nearly 1200 visitors, ensuring that they saw all that the school had to offer, including practical demonstrations and performances from a host of students and staff. The tours provided an opportunity for prospective parents and students to experience our classrooms, laboratories, and creative spaces firsthand. Families explored the modern facilities, including our science labs, ceramics studio, and sports hall, while engaging with teachers and students along the way.

Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Many parents remarked on the warm and welcoming atmosphere, as well as the genuine passion displayed by our staff. There were countless comments about how well the tour guides had done and what a credit they are to the school. Thank you to all the staff and students who made the evening a success.
