Healthy Eating Week - June 17
BNF Healthy Eating Week received over 9,200 registrations from nurseries and schools across the UK – meaning nearly 4 million young people participated in the Week which aimed to promote healthy eating, cooking, being active and awareness of where food comes from, to students of all ages.
Roy Ballam, Managing Director and Head of Education at the British Nutrition Foundation, said: “We’re delighted that Calthorpe Park School is joining in BNF Healthy Eating Week, providing its students with the opportunity to have fun and learn valuable lessons about food and nutrition throughout the week. Schools play a vital role in helping to shape student health and wellbeing – and being part of BNF Healthy Eating Week can contribute to this.”
During BNF Healthy Eating Week, activities focused on healthy eating, cooking, where food comes from and being active. At Calthorpe Park activities were, Meat-free Monday, 5 a day challenge on Tuesday where Real3 and prefects gave out fruit during break and lunch, Water Wednesday where prefects topped up water bottles to make sure we had our 6 to 8 glasses a day, Thursday we had a breakfast club to promote the need for a good start to the day and on Friday Tennis club at lunch time was launched on the MUGA.
Thank you to all the students and staff who helped and supported the week.
