Clubs - We’ve been busy being creative this term.
Laugh & Craft were busy creating woollen hearts to mark the King’s Coronation. We turned our ELSA area red, white and blue! We are now focussing on canvas and enjoying creating art and chatting about our days.
Our boardgame club continues to be well attended and has a real buzz. We enjoy eating lunch, playing games and socialising together. Luna loves the boardgame club as she is always guaranteed to get stroked!
Thank you for the continued donations of boardgames. We’ve loved exploring all the new games! We are on the lookout for a new Chess set as our current and well used set is missing a couple of pieces! If you have a good condition one you would like to donate, we would be most grateful. Donations can be dropped off to reception.
Coping strategies - This term, many of our students have been doing assessments and we wish all our year 11 students who have started their GCSEs the best of luck! The ELSA team have been working with students to teach strategies to help to promote self-regulation and ways to stay calm. Two of our favourite mindfulness strategies we teach students are a breathing exercise using our hand and a grounding exercise using our five senses. We ask all our students to practise these techniques when they are calm, why not try them at home as a family?
Our Exam Pressure Leaflet for student with more help and advice can be found here.
