Y11 GCSE Results - August 2023
Here at Calthorpe Park School we are extremely proud of the superb performances of all our students. This is the first year of full GCSE exams in four years that contained no exam board concessions.
We would also like to recognise Naomi Wheeler who gained 10 grade 9s and an A in Additional Mathematics, Dumkele Osaje received 9 grade 9s, a grade 8 and an A in Additional Mathematics, and Rayan Berrachedi earned 8 grade 9s, a grade 8 and an A in Additional Mathematics. A remarkable and outstanding set of outcomes gaining 27 grade 9s between the three of them.
Further outstanding top grades include: Amara Ahmed, Isabel Dodd, Cian Evans, Eyjay Johal, Joshua Ng, Zoraiz Rahman and Amy Watkins between them gained an astonishing - 45 grade 9s, 19 grade 8s, 4 grade 7s, 3 grade As in Additional Maths and 1 grade B in Additional Maths. An amazing achievement particularly against a national backdrop of a reduction in awarding the very highest grades.
The following students all scored, on average, more than two grades over and above Calthorpe Park School’s expectations: Zoe Alcock, Jenna Dinneen, Madison Diver, Connor Feldman, Eve Hornsby, Jasmin Huband, Tom Lawrence, Edward Lovelock, Josh McIntosh, Alex Sharp and Daniel Tullett. A superb achievement and testimony to their hard work and commitment.
Kevan John, the school's headteacher said: “We are immensely proud of all the work and achievements of our students, especially after such difficult and disrupted GCSE years. We are rightly celebrating the resilience and dedication of individual students whose hard work means they are now able to move on successfully to the next stage of their education. Our teachers have worked tirelessly to ensure students are all able to progress onto Sixth Form College, apprenticeships or employment, and we look forward to seeing what they will achieve in their futures.”
“What we are celebrating today at Calthorpe Park School, is yet another talented cohort of students who are leaving here with the qualifications, skills, experiences and attributes that they will need for the next stage of their lives. The past few years have been particularly challenging and we are very proud of how our Year 11s have thrived and developed, both as learners and as young people, over this time. Each of them can be proud of their achievements in the first formal GCSE exams since 2019 and can look forward to the future having done so well during the two and a half years of their studies”.
