Sister Act - July 2024

‘Sister Act’ was just amazing, we are so incredibly proud of everyone who took part and participated.  Over 130 students gelled together to put on a feast of entertainment.  Five performances, all of which were practically sold out!  It was a very special show to be part of.  Our Principals were an excellent example to other cast members; they came to rehearsals well-prepared and ready to work hard.  We created the show in twelve weeks, this included rehearsing every lunchtime and five times a week after school and at weekends.  During this time their commitment, stamina and dedication to the show never faltered.  A truly remarkable experience for us all to treasure.  For me personally it was a fantastic show to finish my time here at Calthorpe Park School.  I know the 2025 production will be even better and I can’t wait to come back to watch it!

The Music Department was delighted to form a 19-piece band of staff and student musicians to provide the musical accompaniment to our show, Sister Act. The upbeat score is full of memorable songs, which we enjoyed rehearsing and playing over a number of weeks before they were ready to perform at our run of shows last week. We enjoyed the most beautiful singing, amazing acting and sublime playing, culminating in a final night we will remember. Everyone involved in Sister Act gave their all to make such a memorable run of shows.
