Superb GCSE Results - August 2024

Here at Calthorpe Park School, we are extremely proud of the superb performance of each of our students especially given the disruption to education that they have suffered in their secondary careers, as a result of Covid-19. We would also like to recognise both Lillia N and Ellie R who achieved an amazing 9 grade 9s and 1 grade 8 also enjoying grade As in Additional Maths, which is a level 3 qualification. Esme I also scored 9 grade 9s and a grade 8, Anisa R achieved 8 grade 9s, 2 grade 8s and an A in Additional Maths. This represents a phenomenal achievement, particularly against a national backdrop showing a reduction in the very highest grades being awarded.

Similarly, we would like to celebrate the achievements of Katja L, Aidan C, Sam P and Sophie M who have attained an outstanding number of the highest grades amassing an astonishing 19 grade 9s, 17 grade 8s and 2 grade 7s between them.

We are delighted with the numbers of students who made exceptional progress including the following, all of whom achieved on average more than two grades above statistical forecasts, Jethro K, Khahelia C, Arya G, Yasmin G, Phoebe P, Will O, Krystian S, Megan H, Max V and Oscar W. Furthermore, we would like to celebrate the fabulous achievements of some of our English as an Additional Language Students who arrived speaking little or no English and yet have managed to attain some superb GCSE results. These include, but are not limited to, Coke L, Elaine L, Artem K and Kayla Y. Very well done.

Kevan John, the school’s headteacher, expressed his pride, saying, “We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students, especially after navigating such disruption to the start of their secondary schooling. Their resilience and dedication have truly paid off, enabling them to confidently move on to the next chapter of their education. Our teachers have gone above and beyond to support our students, ensuring they are well-prepared for Sixth Form College, apprenticeships, or employment. We can’t wait to see the incredible things they’ll accomplish in the future.

“What we are celebrating today at Calthorpe Park School is yet another remarkable group of talented students who are leaving us with the qualifications, skills, experiences, and attributes that they will need for the next stage of their lives. We are very proud of how our Year 11s have thrived and developed both as learners and as young people over this time."
