SSLT: Command and Leadership training at Aldershot Garrison - June 2015

As part of Aldershot Military Festival Week, the newly appointed Senior Student Leadership Team were invited for a course to help develop their teamwork, leadership, confidence and communication skills.

The morning comprised of a range of both physical and mental workshops which clearly allowed each individual to show their skills; tackling the Army Inflatable Assault Course, the Batak Reaction Test and tested their communication skills on a range of problem solving activities.

The students were commended by the instructors (of all differing ranks) as being the best group they've worked with and they were blown away by the team-work and communication shown by all!

Overall a great trip - a lot of fun and definitely worth going. It made stronger bonds within the team and my already great respect for the army has increased hugely; it showed a very human side to them which was also nice to see. The highlight of the day however was the head-to-head with Mr Hainsworth on the assault course, of which I emerged  victorious’
