Hampshire Book Award Prize Ceremony - November 2016
On Wednesday 2nd November, five students from Year 9 visited Winchester Guildhall to see author, Jo Cotterill, receive her award for winning this year’s Hampshire Book Award. Our students, along with those from 43 other schools across the county, read six shortlisted books in Year 8 and voted for Looking At The Stars as the winner using the criteria of the three Es: Enjoyment, Engagement and Enrichment.
Jo gave us a highly amusing and entertaining talk about her books and the writing process, before signing books for the students. Laura B said, “Taking part in the Hampshire Book Awards has been a great experience. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading all the books. Watching Jo Cotterill receiving her award showed how much it meant to her and her family. Looking At The Stars is a truly amazing book and I would recommend it to anyone!”
