Remembrance - November 2016

On Friday 11th November at 11am, the students and staff of Calthorpe Park joined together to observe 2 minutes' silence in honour of all those who have given their life in war and conflict. This mark of respect was preceded by The Last Post which was played by Year 10 student, Michael.

On Remembrance Sunday, the Headteachers, Melanie Hooper and Martin Amos, together with two of our Senior Student Leadership Team, Phoebe and Ben, attended the annual Remembrance Service held at the Harlington Centre. The service was followed by a parade through Fleet town centre to Gurkha Square where Phoebe and a student from Court Moor School very movingly read a poem of remembrance penned by a veteran of the war in Afghanistan; Ben and a fellow student from our neighbouring school also laid a wreath on behalf of both schools.
